The Faroe Islands are known for their unpredictable weather so we may need be flexible on hiking timings and locations, but we have long mid-summer days to give us plenty of flexibility. We have 18 places on this retreat. We will be staying at a stylish hotel tucked away in a valley, overlooking Tórshavn and the surrounding landscape. We have 6 private and 5 twin rooms in the main hotel and 2 private rooms in the Annex building nearby. The rooms are light and spacious and all are ensuite.
Note this is a large hotel, so we wont have exclusive use. Options are fairly limited in the Faroe Islands so we are pleased to have selected one that is Burðardygt VinnulÃv (the Faroese Sustainable Business Initiative). The hotel offers very comfortable rooms, great views and its own spa and a peaceful yoga room.
Our local chefs will be creating delicious meals each day using fresh, local produce. The menu will include fish and meat, so please check with us if you require vegetarian or vegan options. Herbal teas, black tea, coffee and water are included in your retreat. We do not serve alcohol on this trip.
What’s extra:
This trip is for the adventurous yogi who loves to hike! You’ll need a pretty good level of fitness as we hike up and down mountains every day, as well as doing two yoga classes.
The weather can be unpredictable in the Faroe Islands, so you’ll need good hiking boots and rain gear too. Be ready for a challenge and to sometimes be out of your comfort zone on this trip. An adaptable mindset is essential!
You are heading to some islands in the middle of nowhere! But don’t worry it’s not too tricky to get there.
From UK you can fly from London to Edinburgh with many airlines and then fly with Atlantic Airways to Vagar in the Faroe Islands. Total travel time is around 5 hours. Your other option is to fly to Copenhagen with SASÂ and onto Vagar with either SAS or Atlantic Airways. Travel time is around 5-6 hours.
We will provide recommended flights and details on the timings when you book, so that you can link up with the transfers.
