**Life on Sainte-Marie**

After a night in Antananarivo, we fly to the idyllic island of Sainte-Marie, a tropical escape off Madagascar's east coast where palm-fringed beaches, warm Indian Ocean waters and lush vegetation create the perfect setting to slow down. Staying in a beautiful eco-lodge, our days find a gentle rhythm of yoga, beach walks and time in nature, with opportunities to snorkel in crystal-clear waters, paddleboard along the coastline and simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

One of the highlights of visiting in September is the chance to witness humpback whales. Every winter, hundreds of whales migrate to the warm waters surrounding Sainte-Marie to breed and give birth, making this one of the world's finest places to see these extraordinary animals. Watching them breach and tail slap just offshore is an unforgettable optional excursion.

**Yoga with Jean Hall**

Yoga is woven throughout the retreat, with Jean Hall's calm, thoughtful teaching creating space to slow down and fully immerse yourself in your surroundings. Morning practices overlooking the ocean offer an energising start to the day, while evening sessions help the body unwind as the sun sets over the island.

Between classes, there is time to explore at your own pace, whether that's joining a botanical walk, snorkelling over coral reefs, kayaking along the coast or enjoying a traditional Malagasy massage.

**From the Highlands to the Rainforest**

After our time on the coast, we return to the mainland and travel east through the highlands and into the lush rainforests of Andasibe. The journey itself reveals another side of Madagascar, passing rice paddies, villages and rolling highland landscapes before reaching one of the island's richest wildlife regions.

**Lemurs, Chameleons and Rainforest Walks**

Andasibe National Park is home to the famous Indri, the largest living lemur, whose haunting calls echo through the forest each morning. Guided walks through the rainforest offer the chance to search for these remarkable animals while discovering orchids, towering trees and countless endemic species found nowhere else on Earth.

As darkness falls, we'll head back into the forest on a guided night walk, searching for sleeping chameleons, tiny tree frogs and the fascinating nocturnal wildlife that emerges after sunset.

**Yoga Beneath the Forest Canopy**

Our rainforest lodge provides a peaceful base surrounded by nature. Morning and evening yoga sessions create space to pause between wildlife encounters and forest walks, allowing body and mind to settle into the quieter rhythm of life beneath the towering trees.

**An Extraordinary Island**

One of the things that makes this retreat so special is the contrast between Madagascar's landscapes. In just over a week, we'll experience tropical beaches, coral reefs, ancient rainforests and some of the world's rarest wildlife, discovering why this remarkable island is considered one of Earth's greatest biodiversity hotspots.

Through daily yoga, extraordinary wildlife encounters and time immersed in nature, this journey offers a rare opportunity to experience one of the planet's most fascinating destinations.
