Our home for the week is a beautiful and quiet lodge located in the highlands of Santa Cruz. The lodge is secluded and tranquil, the perfect place to relax between adventures and roam in the lush grounds. Enjoy the swimming pool and jacuzzi, relax in the hammocks or take a walk around the gardens or along a forest trail.
Practice plenty of yoga and meditation with James in a yoga studio with views of the forest and fruit trees.
During the retreat we explore the paradise beaches on Santa Cruz island and also explore the archipelago to visit the extraordinary wildlife. We will carefully explore the islands on foot and dingy and then swim and snorkel in beautiful bays and explore the reefs.
Bartolome Island offers some of the most emblematic sceneries of the Galapagos Islands. We walk on the island with our guide and learn first hand about the volcanic origins of the Galapagos Islands and then take a dingy ride along the coastline to see the Galapagos penguin before heading to Sullivan Bay for some snorkelling.
Santa Fe Island has a beautiful white sandy beach and is home to plenty of sea lions and iguanas. We walk a trail that starts at the beach and leads into a giant cactus forest where the Galapagos hawk, crabs, nocturnal herons, marine iguanas, mockingbirds and Galapagos doves are often spotted. After exploring the island we head to Fisherman Bay to snorkel with sea turtles, rays, sea lions, fishes and Galapagos sharks.
There will be also be time to visit the El Manzanillo Tortoise Reserve, the Charles Darwin centre and we have an afternoon and evening out in Puerto Ayora. While we have packed a lot into this trip of lifetime, there is also time to practice yoga, to book a massage or lie by the pool, chat and make new friends.
Who's Teaching: James Rafael

James is a vinyasa yoga, movement, and meditation teacher. On this retreat you’ll have eight yoga classes where you’ll enjoy a slow and strength based, lighthearted but challenging practice.
Each class will be 90 minutes long combining fluid, slow flowing sequences of postures linked through breath and awareness. There will be a focus on building strength and flexibility in a balanced way while connecting body to heart and mind. Options will be offered for all levels throughout depending on how nourishing or fiery you like your practice, but some previous experience of vinyasa yoga is recommended.
Find out more about James and try some free classes or join a live online class.

We have space for 18 guests in 5 private rooms, 4 double/twin rooms and 1 triple room. Our traditional lodge has ten rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are separated into three buildings in the lush grounds giving lots of privacy and space for everyone.
Our accommodation here is a 3 star family owned highland lodge (rather a 5 star chain hotel), so you’ll have simple rooms with comfortable beds and a warm welcome for the long-standing and lovely team there.
Your retreat will be prepared by our local chefs using locally sourced ingredients. Our hosts are proud to grow some of their own produce giving us a farm-to-table experience. Some of the delicious treats from the garden are pineapples, grapefruits, oranges, mandarins, papayas, bananas, coffee, cacao and variety of vegetables! The menu will be primarily vegetarian food with optional elements of locally produced cheese from our hosts own cheese making project and locally sourced fish.
This is an alcohol free retreat.
Our Galapagos adventure is tailor-made for our Venture Travellers*.
This retreat is perfect for those with an adventurous spirit and a passion for nature. A good level of fitness is essential as we’ll be exploring every day through hiking, biking, kayaking, and swimming, alongside invigorating yoga sessions.
The yoga is dynamic, so some prior experience is recommended to fully benefit from the classes. Keep in mind that internet access on the island is limited, so be ready to unplug and embrace the adventure without the expectation of being online constantly.
