The power of people is boundless. It is the people that make our retreats so special. Our team are experienced and carefully chosen for their passion, care and dedication in their fields. You, the people who book on our retreats, travelling with existing friends, but often alone and come home having formed stronger connections and new friendships. The local communities and people we meet along the way.
There is so much joy that comes from shared experiences. Here are a few ways our retreats embrace personal connections and the power of people.
Show The Love
We are supporters of the UK Climate Coalition as we want our Government to achieve their commitment to Net Zero by 2050 (you can read more about this here).
Travelling Alone and Meeting New People
To some, travelling alone or undertaking a group adventure with new people can feel daunting. Yoga retreats, though, are the perfect setting in which to make new friendships and enrich existing ones. Our retreats have a magical way of forming a special kind of family united by a super strong bond. We like to believe it is because Reclaim Your Self unites like-minded souls, in special places to share a love of yoga and a wonder of the world. The beauty of a retreat format means that you can reap the benefits of solo travel, but in a more protected way, and connect with others embarking on the same experience.
If you are travelling with friends or family, a Reclaim Your Self retreat will strengthen and grow existing relationships. Often in remote locations, away from phones and distractions, it is a time to spend quality time, sharing stories, physical and mental challenges and experiences. For a digital detox and dedicated time focused on yourself and those around you, check out our UK Digital Detox Retreat. For a more remote adventure, enjoy a group swim in Icelandic hot pools, or an adventure to one of the most remote places on earth in magnificent Mongolia. A world of adventure awaits. Local Communities
It is incredibly important to us that our retreats embrace, support and incorporate culture and local communities and people.
As of 2020 all of our retreat venues are locally owned so at least 65% of your retreat payment goes into the local economy. We work with local businesses and suppliers and we do not take commission on any of the activities you book.
We work with local teams whenever we can. Our UK based team members work with their local counterparts to share skills and create a mutually positive and productive work experience. We respect their culture and we appreciate being welcomed into their country and we know that our best retreats are the ones we co-create with our in-country partners.
We want to inspire the yoga travel industry to be a force for good and encourage our peers to join us in increasing the demand for more eco-friendly options from suppliers. We want to inspire our partners and our guests to join us in supporting conservation and tree planting, campaigning in their own countries and making changes that can benefit the planet. If we work together we can have an impact. That’s the power of people.
