Frequently Asked Questions

❗ What happens if I need to cancel my retreat?

If you need to cancel your place, we will retain your 25% deposit. Additional cancellation charges are applied as follows:

  • 90 days or more before the retreat: 25% of the retreat cost

  • 30–89 days before the retreat: 75% of the retreat cost

  • Less than 30 days before the retreat: 100% of the retreat cost

🔄 Can I move my booking to another retreat?

We may be able to move your booking if you let us know at least 90 days before the retreat, and only if we can re-sell your place. If this is possible, a £50 admin fee applies. Otherwise, our standard cancellation terms apply.

🧳 What should I bring?

You’ll receive a detailed packing list 8 weeks before your retreat. If you'd like to plan ahead, just get in touch and we’ll send it to you sooner.

🧘 Do I need to bring my own yoga equipment?

Due to the unique and often remote locations we work in, many of our venues don’t provide yoga equipment – or the quality can vary. We often ask guests to bring their own mat, so it’s worth investing in a good travel mat: something lightweight, grippy, and easy to pack.

🌱 Are your retreats suitable for beginners?

You don’t need to be experienced, but we recommend having tried yoga a few times before joining. A basic familiarity with postures and a reasonable level of fitness will help you get the most from the retreat. Classes are 3–4 hours a day and can be physically demanding, but our experienced teachers adapt to all levels. If you're unsure, just get in touch and we’ll help you choose the right retreat for you.

💪 Will I be challenged as an experienced yogi?

Yes. Our retreats are led by highly respected, senior teachers who skilfully adapt sessions to suit all levels. Many experienced yogis return year after year for the depth and inspiration they find in our retreats. On some retreats, optional workshops may be offered for advanced students or those new to the practice.

🧍‍♂️ Can I bring a non-yogi partner?

Yes, absolutely. We may be able to offer a discounted rate for non-participating guests, depending on the retreat and what's included. Just ask.

🐾 Can I bring my dog?

We love dogs, and where possible, we choose venues that welcome them. It depends on the location, so let us know your preferred retreat and we’ll check the venue policy for you.

💫 Can I come on my own?

Yes – over 70% of our guests travel solo. It’s a lovely way to meet new people, make meaningful connections, and feel part of the Reclaim Yourself community.

🛌 Do I need to bring someone to book a twin room?

No – if you're happy to share, we’ll pair you with another solo traveller. If you'd prefer your own space, you’re welcome to book a private room.

✈ When should I book my flights or trains?

We recommend waiting until your retreat is confirmed, usually around 10 weeks before departure. If you book earlier, please choose flexible or refundable fares. Reclaim Yourself cannot refund travel costs due to changes in retreat arrangements.

🛫 Will you help with booking flights?

We research the best travel options for each retreat and will send you suggested flights and fares when you book. You’ll then need to make your own arrangements.

🚐 What about transfers?

We can arrange airport transfers for all retreats. Depending on the location, this may be a private taxi or a shared vehicle. As a B-Corp, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint by arranging shared transfers whenever possible.

🧾 When is my balance due?

The final balance for your retreat is due 10 weeks before departure. We’ll send you a reminder and all payment details in plenty of time.

🛂 Do I need a visa or special documents?

Depending on your nationality and the retreat destination, you may need a visa or specific travel documents. We’ll let you know what’s required for your chosen retreat, and we’re happy to guide you through the process if you need support.

❗ What if Reclaim Yourself cancels a retreat?

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your retreat, you’ll be offered a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to another retreat. We always do our best to provide a smooth and fair solution.

📶 Will there be mobile signal or Wi-Fi?

Some of our retreat locations are remote, with limited Wi-Fi or phone signal – part of the magic, we think. We’ll always let you know in advance what to expect so you can prepare accordingly.

🛏 What kind of accommodation do you offer?

We work with carefully chosen boutique properties – from eco-retreats in remote wilderness locations to design-led hotels in vibrant cultural centres. Some are luxurious in the traditional sense, others are more simple and earthy, but all are selected for their comfort, character, and connection to place.

To help guide you, we categorise accommodation for each retreat as Premium, Comfort, or Simple. You can read more about what each category means here.

🍽 What kind of food is served?

We create seasonal menus using local, responsibly sourced ingredients. Some retreats may include sustainably sourced fish or meat, but we can cater for vegetarian and vegan diets with advance notice.

🍷 Can I drink alcohol on retreat?

All of our retreats are now alcohol-free. We believe in creating spaces that support clarity, connection, and deep rest – and keeping our retreats alcohol-free is a key part of that. If you're looking for a retreat where wine is part of the experience, ours may not be the right fit.

🌍 Are your retreats only for adventurous or well-travelled people?

Not at all. You don’t need to be a seasoned globetrotter or thrill-seeker to join us – just open to new experiences and curious about the world. Whether you love a soft pillow and a good view, thrive on cultural connection, or crave something a little wild and off-grid, there’s a retreat for you.

We’ve even created three traveller typesThe Comfort Seeker, The Venture Traveller, and The Bold Explorer – to help you find the retreat that suits your travel style. Take a look and see where you land.
