Our Patagonian adventure begins in a private nature reserve, nestled in the untouched Río de las Vueltas valley. Here, on a working ranch dedicated to conservation and research, we spend five days immersed in wild beauty—practising yoga with James, meditating beneath vast skies, and hiking through ancient forests and along glacier-fed rivers.
This region is a hiker’s paradise, with trails that lead us through crystalline lagoons, dramatic valleys, and snow-capped peaks that pierce the clouds. You’ll wander through landscapes where nature tells stories of ice and time, and where silence is broken only by birdsong and the crackle of glaciers in the distance.
Led by our expert park ranger, we’ll embark on three unforgettable hikes—to the shimmering Milodón Lagoon, the mighty Cagliero Este Glacier, and the iconic Laguna de los Tres, with its legendary views of Mount Fitz Roy. Between hikes, there’s time to rest, soak in the quiet of the ranch, or opt for more adventure with kayaking or independent hikes around Lago del Desierto.
After five nights in the wilderness, we travel to El Calafate, gateway to Patagonia’s most iconic ice giant—Perito Moreno Glacier. Our cosy base is a tranquil family-run farm just outside town, with views across the lake and wide-open skies. Here, we slow down and take it all in.
The highlight of our time in El Calafate is a full-day expedition into Los Glaciares National Park. We’ll sail between luminous icebergs and glide past towering walls of ice—Seco, South Heim, Peineta, and finally, the mighty Spegazzini Glacier, standing over 135 metres high. The journey ends with a mindful hike through the national park—time to breathe, reflect, and absorb the magnitude of this ancient land.
This retreat is an adventure like no other—a powerful blend of raw wilderness, exhilarating hikes, and soul-stirring stillness. Are you ready to answer the call of Patagonia?

We have space for 12 guests on this retreat, with a mix of four single rooms and four twin/double rooms. All accommodation falls within our Simple category.*
You’ll be staying in two different locations during the retreat.
We begin with five nights in a private nature reserve near El Chaltén, surrounded by forest and dramatic mountain views. The lodge has nine cosy ensuite rooms, each with large windows looking out to the Patagonian wilderness. Thoughtfully furnished with locally sourced, reclaimed materials, the rooms are simple yet full of character. Wi-Fi is available at scheduled times.
We then spend two nights on a charming family-run farm on the outskirts of El Calafate. Accommodation here is spread across three eco cabins and three spacious houses. The single rooms have ensuite bathrooms, while twin/double rooms share bathrooms between three rooms. The setting is peaceful and homely, with views across the open steppe.

This retreat is designed for the Bold Traveller*—someone with a strong sense of adventure, a high level of fitness, and a deep appreciation for remote, rugged places. You’ll need to be fit, well-prepared, and open to the wildness of Patagonia, where nature sets the pace and simplicity allows the landscape to shine.
Expect to be out exploring on foot most days, with breathtaking hikes and active adventures woven into the rhythm of the retreat. One of the highlights is the challenging full-day hike to Laguna de los Tres—a demanding 22km journey that takes around 9 hours and requires stamina, sure-footedness, and an injury-free body to fully enjoy.
If this hike isn’t for you, there are still ways to enjoy the landscape—alternative self-guided walks and optional kayaking offer more gentle, independent ways to engage with the surroundings. But overall, this retreat is best suited to those who love to move, explore, and embrace the raw beauty of the wild.

Responsible Retreating in Patagonia
We are committed to operating in an environmentally and socially responsible way which includes being transparent about the current eco-credentials for each retreat.
Our El Chalten location is off grid, so they had to create everything from scratch while trying to be as sustainable as possible. Electricity is powered by solar energy, the sun is very high in Patagonia during the tourist season and this is the most sustainable option. Water is from a spring and they have biodigesters so they do not contaminate. They serve water from the spring at the table during meals and they do not offer plastic bottle unless asked for. And every year they incorporate new actions to be more sustainable.
