Matthew Shaw

Matthew is a seasoned Vinyasa Yoga teacher known for his grounded, strength-based approach and dynamic, intelligently sequenced classes. He studies with Jason Crandell, with whom he trained for his 500-hour certification. He’s dedicated to empowering you with the ability to improve your fitness and to find mental resilience both on and off the mat.

Matthew came to yoga teaching after a fulfilling career as a professional opera singer when he found that yoga helped him to find more mental fortitude while also becoming stronger in his body. He quickly found that through yoga, specifically vinyasa flow, he was able to get out of his thoughts, into his body, and become powerfully present.

After a long run in the fulfilling-yet-challenging professional singing world, I decided to shift gears and become a yoga teacher. I’ve not looked back since, and I revel in the fact that yoga allows me to be my most authentic, non-perfect self
