Couples wellness holidays and retreats

Something shifts when you find yourselves somewhere extraordinary together.

You spend less time looking at screens and more time looking up: at mountains, starry skies, wild coastlines. The days become refreshingly simple: a bit of movement, some fresh air, maybe a stretch after a walk. And the conversations tend to get better too — less “what are we having for dinner?” and more “can you believe we’re actually here?”

Our retreats aren't specifically couples retreats, but many couples join us every year, and for good reason. The mix of adventure, yoga, beautiful places and small group travel creates something that's genuinely hard to replicate elsewhere. Shared experiences to enjoy together, with plenty of space to simply breathe — and come home closer than when you left.

Why Couples Choose Reclaim Yourself Retreats

More often than not, couples arrive at a retreat with one keen yogi and one curious plus-one.

One partner has already discovered yoga or wellness practices and the other is curious to see what it’s all about — or the trip simply looked far too good to miss out on (a classic case of retreat FOMO).

Instead of fly-and-flop resorts or packed itineraries, our retreats combine time to explore extraordinary places with simple daily wellness practices that help you properly switch off. Think morning yoga, adventures outside, amazing food, and a rhythm that feels a world away from everyday life.

What many couples enjoy most is the balance. You might spend the day hiking through wild landscapes, spotting wildlife, or warming up in a sauna after a cold dip — then gather for a relaxed yoga session and a relaxed dinner with the group.

Yoga sessions are welcoming and suitable for all levels. It’s quite common for one partner to arrive a little unsure about the yoga side of things (and leave wondering why they didn’t start sooner). And because our retreats bring together a small group of interesting people, couples often find the experience feels both social and spacious at the same time — easy company when you want it, and plenty of space to enjoy the journey together.

Reclaim's Mongolia Retreat was my first (a) Yoga Retreat and (b) Group Travel trip (& as a solo participant). Count myself lucky to be a Reclaim Alum & will be back for more! Jools & team did an fantastic job balancing the travel, trip-experiences & yoga across two magnificant destinations. While each of the 10 days flew by, the pace remained unhurried and I was able to fully engage through all the activities. I really appreciated how the team fostered a warm & friendly environment across the small group, and it was a truly lovely communal experience. Major shout-out to Kelly for the menu & food as well - I am not a vegetarian, but did not miss meat at all over the trip! Yoga with James was eye-opening as well, with the yurts providing a really grounding experience. We all received personal attention/modifications during the group classes that catered to varying levels of practice. Beyond the new poses & transitions, my foundation has really improved with his attention to micro-detail & expertise across breadth, movement & focus. Grateful to have been a part of this trip & massive thank you to Jools & James for the experience. 10/10. Highly Recommended!

I did the Mongolia retreat with James this year and it was excellent. Jools does an amazing job of combining a unique experience with an amazing yoga teacher. I can't wait to do another one with reclaim yourself!

Excellent - I’ve been on four retreats (South Africa/Namibia, Japan, Norway, and Iceland) and signed up for two more. Small, well-led, great yoga, great destinations. You are very well taken care of, and the company’s retreats always minimise environmental impact and maximise wellness.

I recently had the privilege of attending a yoga retreat with Reclaim Yourself to Mongolia. It was perfect! The yoga classes were led by James Rafael. The class size was small which allowed personal attention to all students, there was meditation, breath work , a powerful flow and the occasional workshop threaded in, teaching new poses and refining old poses. It was the perfect beginning and end to each day. Sleeping in yurts was new and a fun experience. One night I even scored a 98 sleep score. The vegetarian meals were outstanding, thanks to Kelly and the camp personnel . The transportation was another highlight of the trip a train ride to the Gobi desert, and Jeep excursions in the gobi and then to the next camp, traveling back trails. Then you add in the hikes and horseback riding and hot showers in the shower tent, by candlelight all coordinated by Jools. Perfect.

Several weeks have passed since my retreat in Bhutan with ReclaimYourself . I have had weeks to reflect and notice how I Feel and how I was affected by my experience . When I left I felt that the trip was a 10+++ . Extremely well organized , leaders who care about their clients and are clearly invested in their well being and just a fabulous time all the way around . After all these weeks , I still feel like the trip and company is a 10+++ . I would highly recommend Reclaim Yourself to anyone if you are looking to combine adventure with some yoga and retrospection . This group and company is wonderful!! You can’t go wrong with any of their offered retreats!! ❤️

Bhutan is extraordinary on its own — but experiencing it through this retreat elevated it into something truly transformative. From the moment we arrived, every detail was thoughtfully held. Our guides and drivers were exceptional. Patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring, they kept us safe and well-informed through every hike and excursion, and their warmth made the whole journey feel personal rather than programmatic. The yoga was outstanding. I came hoping to deepen my practice and left having done exactly that. Matthew is a gem — his instruction and presence created a space where I felt fully supported every single day, on and off the mat. What sets this retreat apart is the rare combination of rigorous practice, breathtaking landscape, and people who genuinely care about your experience. Bhutan has a way of cracking you open, and having the right container for that makes all the difference.

It’s hard to put into words just how wonderful this retreat was. Carefree, culturally connected, sustainable by design, and deeply personal. I felt incredibly cared for every step of the journey to Bhutan. Jools was exceptionally thoughtful and generous with her time, knowledge, and passion for connecting people from all walks of life with meaningful experiences. She was and amazing bodyguard at the Delhi airport, and a steady support system for the group, and a savvy strategic planner who stayed 10 steps ahead at every moment. As a yogi, it was also incredible to have access to a world class instructor. I was really impressed by how selectively Jools chooses partners like Matthew that truly deepen your yoga practice in a meaningful way. If you’re looking for a life-changing adventure with a group that goes deeper than the average travel company, considers every experience, and leaves the world a little better in the process, this is the perfect opportunity to do something truly special for yourself.

You won’t find a retreat that inspires you, calms you, and genuinely immerses you in culture and connection the way Reclaim Yourself does. Jools, Chloe, Matthew, and the whole team go above and beyond to make sure you feel truly cared for. Chloe was so lovely throughout, and Matthew’s yoga sessions were such a grounding and special part of the experience. The friendships you make last a lifetime. Thank you all -you gave me so much more than just a retreat!

I’ve done 2 retreats - one in Greece and the second in Bhutan. Both retreats were incredible from start to finish. The yoga teacher Matthew is so warm and caring. Jools and Chloe keep the group organized and thought of everything. It was so nice to feel completely cared for during the trip. I am absolutely impressed with their commitment to sustainability and impacting the local community in a positive way

Which destinations suit couples best?

The short answer? Almost all of them.

Couples join us across the full range of our retreats. But some destinations just feel better experienced together. Places where you’re constantly nudging each other and saying, “Did you see that?”

Here are a few destinations that couples seem to love most.

OKINAWA

If one of you suggests Japan, this is the version you’ll both be glad you chose.

Okinawa feels a world away from the buzz of the mainland — coral islands, warm ocean swims and a slower rhythm of life. Days unfold between yoga, island exploration and the simple pleasure of being somewhere beautifully remote.

A softer, more nature-filled side of Japan that most travellers never see.

MONGOLIA

Some journeys feel even more special when shared — and Mongolia is certainly one of them. Out on the steppe, the horizon stretches endlessly and life moves to a rhythm shaped by nature. Days unfold between yoga, exploring vast desert landscapes and spending time with nomadic families whose way of life has remained largely unchanged for generations.

Evenings are often spent around the fire beneath enormous star-filled skies — the kind of quiet, expansive moments that naturally invite conversation and reflection.

Patagonia

Now, a bucket-list trip like Patagonia wouldn’t feel entirely fair to experience alone, would it?

Jagged granite peaks rise out of vast valleys, glaciers move slowly through ancient landscapes, and condors circle high above. It’s the kind of place that regularly stops you mid-walk — both of you staring at the same view thinking, “How is this real?”

Between spectacular hikes, yoga beneath wide Patagonian skies and quiet evenings on a remote ranch, there’s plenty of time to let the experience sink in.

WEST NORWAY

If one of you loves dramatic landscapes and the other enjoys places that naturally slow the world down, West Norway strikes a wonderful balance.

Our retreat takes place deep within Norway’s fjord country, where steep mountains rise straight out of the water and waterfalls spill down the cliffs. Days move between yoga, boat journeys along the fjords and hiking through landscapes that seem almost impossibly beautiful.

After a day outdoors, there’s the simple pleasure of warming up in a sauna overlooking the water — the kind of setting where it’s very easy to forget about the outside world for a while.

When One of You Loves Yoga (and the Other Isn’t So Sure)

It’s a dynamic we see all the time. One partner’s into yoga and thinks building a trip around it sounds like a brilliant idea. The other is mostly here for the destination, the adventure… or because the whole thing looked far too good to miss.

The good news is that our retreats are designed for exactly that balance. Yoga sessions are welcoming, accessible for all levels, and always optional. Quite often the partner who arrived slightly sceptical ends up admitting that a good stretch after a hike actually feels pretty good.

Image
Image

And if yoga isn’t calling one morning, there’s always plenty else to enjoy — reading somewhere peaceful, soaking up the atmosphere, or simply having a lovely lie-in.

More often than not, couples leave feeling like they’ve both found something they genuinely loved — and with one unexpected new yoga fan between them.
