Wellness Holidays & Retreats For Men

More men are joining Reclaim Yourself retreats every year.

Some come with partners. Others arrive solo, looking for a break that feels genuinely restorative. If you’ve never been on a retreat before, it’s normal to feel a little unsure about what that actually means. For some men, retreats can sound a bit… mysterious. A little too spiritual. Or like something that might not quite be “for them.”

In reality, most people quickly realise they’re in good company. You don’t need retreat experience or any particular level of flexibility to join. Our retreats aren’t designed specifically for men or women — they’re simply designed for people who want to feel better through movement, awe, nature, and good company.

Why Men Choose Reclaim Yourself Retreats

Many men come looking for a break from the constant pressures of work and everyday life — sometimes because they can feel the early signs of burnout creeping in.

Time in nature, a bit of movement, and the chance to spend time with good people in an extraordinary place can create the kind of headspace that’s hard to find at home. By the end of the week, many leave feeling clearer, recharged, and grateful they took the time.

Reclaim's Mongolia Retreat was my first (a) Yoga Retreat and (b) Group Travel trip (& as a solo participant). Count myself lucky to be a Reclaim Alum & will be back for more! Jools & team did an fantastic job balancing the travel, trip-experiences & yoga across two magnificant destinations. While each of the 10 days flew by, the pace remained unhurried and I was able to fully engage through all the activities. I really appreciated how the team fostered a warm & friendly environment across the small group, and it was a truly lovely communal experience. Major shout-out to Kelly for the menu & food as well - I am not a vegetarian, but did not miss meat at all over the trip! Yoga with James was eye-opening as well, with the yurts providing a really grounding experience. We all received personal attention/modifications during the group classes that catered to varying levels of practice. Beyond the new poses & transitions, my foundation has really improved with his attention to micro-detail & expertise across breadth, movement & focus. Grateful to have been a part of this trip & massive thank you to Jools & James for the experience. 10/10. Highly Recommended!

I did the Mongolia retreat with James this year and it was excellent. Jools does an amazing job of combining a unique experience with an amazing yoga teacher. I can't wait to do another one with reclaim yourself!

Excellent - I’ve been on four retreats (South Africa/Namibia, Japan, Norway, and Iceland) and signed up for two more. Small, well-led, great yoga, great destinations. You are very well taken care of, and the company’s retreats always minimise environmental impact and maximise wellness.

I recently had the privilege of attending a yoga retreat with Reclaim Yourself to Mongolia. It was perfect! The yoga classes were led by James Rafael. The class size was small which allowed personal attention to all students, there was meditation, breath work , a powerful flow and the occasional workshop threaded in, teaching new poses and refining old poses. It was the perfect beginning and end to each day. Sleeping in yurts was new and a fun experience. One night I even scored a 98 sleep score. The vegetarian meals were outstanding, thanks to Kelly and the camp personnel . The transportation was another highlight of the trip a train ride to the Gobi desert, and Jeep excursions in the gobi and then to the next camp, traveling back trails. Then you add in the hikes and horseback riding and hot showers in the shower tent, by candlelight all coordinated by Jools. Perfect.

Bhutan is extraordinary on its own — but experiencing it through this retreat elevated it into something truly transformative. From the moment we arrived, every detail was thoughtfully held. Our guides and drivers were exceptional. Patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring, they kept us safe and well-informed through every hike and excursion, and their warmth made the whole journey feel personal rather than programmatic. The yoga was outstanding. I came hoping to deepen my practice and left having done exactly that. Matthew is a gem — his instruction and presence created a space where I felt fully supported every single day, on and off the mat. What sets this retreat apart is the rare combination of rigorous practice, breathtaking landscape, and people who genuinely care about your experience. Bhutan has a way of cracking you open, and having the right container for that makes all the difference.

It’s hard to put into words just how wonderful this retreat was. Carefree, culturally connected, sustainable by design, and deeply personal. I felt incredibly cared for every step of the journey to Bhutan. Jools was exceptionally thoughtful and generous with her time, knowledge, and passion for connecting people from all walks of life with meaningful experiences. She was and amazing bodyguard at the Delhi airport, and a steady support system for the group, and a savvy strategic planner who stayed 10 steps ahead at every moment. As a yogi, it was also incredible to have access to a world class instructor. I was really impressed by how selectively Jools chooses partners like Matthew that truly deepen your yoga practice in a meaningful way. If you’re looking for a life-changing adventure with a group that goes deeper than the average travel company, considers every experience, and leaves the world a little better in the process, this is the perfect opportunity to do something truly special for yourself.

You won’t find a retreat that inspires you, calms you, and genuinely immerses you in culture and connection the way Reclaim Yourself does. Jools, Chloe, Matthew, and the whole team go above and beyond to make sure you feel truly cared for. Chloe was so lovely throughout, and Matthew’s yoga sessions were such a grounding and special part of the experience. The friendships you make last a lifetime. Thank you all -you gave me so much more than just a retreat!

I’ve done 2 retreats - one in Greece and the second in Bhutan. Both retreats were incredible from start to finish. The yoga teacher Matthew is so warm and caring. Jools and Chloe keep the group organized and thought of everything. It was so nice to feel completely cared for during the trip. I am absolutely impressed with their commitment to sustainability and impacting the local community in a positive way

Good People Make Good Retreats

One of the things people often mention after their first retreat is the group. Our retreats attract a genuinely varied mix of people — different ages, backgrounds and walks of life. Some arrive solo, others with partners or friends. And increasingly, more men are joining each year too, which we love to see — the world needs more spaces where wellbeing feels accessible to everyone.

What tends to bring people together is a shared curiosity about the world, a love of nature, and often a quiet interest in the benefits of yoga and wellness — even if they’re still figuring out what that looks like for them.

There’s no need to be a particular “type” of person on retreat. You simply arrive as you are. By the end of the retreat, it rarely feels like a group of strangers anymore.

Do you need yoga experience to join a retreat?

It's quite common for men to arrive on retreat slightly unsure about the yoga. Maybe you've never tried it before. Maybe you assume you're not flexible enough. Or maybe group yoga classes just don't feel like your kind of thing.

That's completely normal — and it's one of the most common questions we hear. Most men who join our retreats are either completely new to yoga or haven't practised much before.

Here's the honest truth: you don't need to be flexible, experienced or particularly bendy. Our teachers are brilliant at meeting you exactly where you are — no judgement, no ego, no contorting yourself into impossible shapes.

That said, going from zero to twice-daily yoga is more of a shift than people expect — and a class or two beforehand will genuinely make a difference. Most of our teachers offer free online classes, so it's easy to dip your toe in before you commit.

“I’m not flexible enough for yoga”

Many men assume yoga requires a certain level of flexibility before they even begin. In reality, the opposite is true. Stiff hips, tight hamstrings and limited shoulder mobility are incredibly common — especially for people who run, lift weights, cycle or spend long hours sitting at a desk.

Yoga simply helps you move better. On retreat, the aim isn’t perfect poses or impressive flexibility. It’s learning how to move your body in a way that feels good and supports the things you already enjoy doing.

“What if everyone else is better than me?”

It’s a worry many people have before their first retreat. The reality is that retreats naturally bring together a mix of experience levels — some guests practise yoga regularly, while others are stepping onto a mat for the very first time.

Our teachers are used to guiding groups like this. Classes are taught in a way that breaks things down clearly, with plenty of options so you can take part at your own level.

There’s no pressure to keep up or perform. You simply move in the way that works for your body.

Why yoga feels different on retreat

One of the biggest advantages of practising yoga on retreat is time. Instead of squeezing into a busy studio class once a week, you get space to actually understand what you’re doing.

Over a few days, teachers can introduce key movements slowly, explain alignment in simple ways, and help you build confidence in the basics. By the end of the retreat, many people feel far more comfortable with yoga than they ever expected.

The unexpected benefit: it helps everything else you do

Many guests are surprised by how quickly yoga improves the way their body feels. Better mobility, improved posture, and greater body awareness can all translate into other activities — whether that’s running, hiking, surfing, strength training, or simply moving through daily life with less stiffness.

You don’t need to become a “yoga person”. You might just discover it’s a helpful addition to the things you already enjoy.
